One activity that I hold very near and dear to my heart is tubing.  Few will ever realize simple pleasures of this ultimate lazy mans’ activity. Tubing takes patience. Tubing takes skill.  The more skilled you are, the less energy you have to exert, and the closer you get to a lazy Sunday relaxed nirvana.

The art of maneuvering a tube has Zen like qualities.  You can paddle once, adjust your path, and let the current take you around the obstacle.  Or you can wait until you are on a full on collision course, requiring you to paddle furiously with both hands in order to escape the inevitable.  It requires great foresight and the ability to predict currents, and once you get good at it, you free up time for more self-actualized activities - like nature observation, conversation, and drinking beer.

So why am talking so much about Tubing you ask?  Kellettville is great for tubing. That’s why.  It is also great for kayaking, canoeing, and even fishing.  The river is beautiful, scenic, wide, deep, and filled with fish.  It has got just about everything you could ask for, except shallow water.  The only thing Kellettville is not good for is swimming.  The lack of shallows and fast moving current make for less than ideal swimming conditions. Don’t go here just to swim. Go to Wal-Mart, pick up some cheap inner tubes, pick up a cooler, pick up some ice, grab some friends, grab a few beers, and float your lazy ass down the Kellettville River.
